Florida Licensed Therapists
Florida Licensed therapists work at Mental Health Rescue to provide additional mental health care.
Our therapists create a safe and supportive environment for clients. Many of our therapists provide therapy to a very diverse list of clients that we treat with open arms.
Our therapists do not just provide therapy but also collaborate with health care providers and health insurance companies to ensure clients are getting Case Management services.
Clinical Social Work Student Interns, what’s that mean?
Don’t be fooled by the word “Student Intern” …
You can receive high quality evidence-based care from a Clinical Social Work Student Intern, often with the added benefit of having two professionals—the intern and their supervisor—reviewing your case.
At this time, our Qualified Supervisors are full and cannot take on new students. If you would like us to add you to our waiting list, please send an email to: mentalhealthrescuellc@gmail.com and in the Subject Line indicate Student Intern wait list.
If you have a Qualified Supervisor Already and would like to work for us as a 1099 “Independent Contractor”, You then can indeed work for Mental Health Rescue. Please send us an email and in the Subject Write Student Intern with a Current Supervisor Already. We are always welcoming new support so we can help as many people as possible in need of immediate counseling.
Fully Licensed therapists are also always welcome too, to come on board and work for our team as Independent Contractors.
All student interns and fully licensed therapists must have Active Malpractice Coverage. We do call the company and check it every month. Client notes must be completed in session. If client notes are not completed, we will not schedule additional clients until all notes are completed immediately, this way we can ensure your files are up to date in real time and your file is accurate in case of a crisis or emergency. We do not schedule clients back-to-back to ensure that if a client needs extra time, we can provide more time. Most health insurances allow add on codes for additional time.
We also require all of our student interns and therapists to ensure their progress notes are entered as Clear, non-judgmental, and comprehensive as possible. All notes must have a accurate start and end time which is essential for quality care, ethical practice, and legal protection. Using full words instead of abbreviations prevents misinterpretation, while objective language keeps the focus on facts rather than assumptions.
Our management team reviews daily the clinical notes of all our staff to ensure accurate descriptions are made for each client and that no items are copy pasted from a repeat documentation style. We will not allow continued actions of this kind as it does not reflect accurate documentation. Reference
We utilize a Software called Simple Practice which is a HIPAA-compliant Client Portal and HITRUST certified application with end-to-end encryption. We can Send and receive secure, end-to-end encrypted messages right in this HIPAA-compliant Client Portal for therapy. Our therapists will use this system to communicate with you between sessions. They will not be texting or calling you from their personal phones. This platform assists our team to complete your documentation timely and organized. You can login anytime to access your Mental Health records. We also frequently have team meetings and review any issues that may come up. We offer each and every client an opportunity to provide feedback on how they like their therapist and if they need to make any changes or have suggestions on changes we should make through voluntarily surveys, we will send you.
A Clinical Social Work Student Intern is a graduate student (Master of Social Work - MSW) in their final year of study, providing therapy while undergoing rigorous training and supervision. Qualified Supervisors attended extensive training in order to provide educational oversight and training in all areas including legal/ethical issues, and Florida board rules, in order to ensure proper education and training.
All fully licensed social workers have to complete this training before they can be fully licensed.
1. What "Student Intern" Means
Highly Supervised: Interns do not do their work alone. Qualified Supervisors oversee all treatment plans, review notes, and discuss cases weekly.
Qualified & Trained: They are not beginners; the word student intern can throw you off, but they have already completed years of classroom study Clinical internships before they are allowed to provide therapy services. Courses in University’s usually do not allow lower than a B or a High C in order to pass classes.
Interns are up to date with the best level of education and evidence-based techniques
Interns are expected to provide the same dedication and passion when working with clients. They are heavily monitored at all times to ensure they are delivering the best mental health care.
Mental Health Rescue is a highly desired mental health virtual business with a wait list for Student Interns to work for us. We do not accept student interns who are lacking energy, focus, and a passion to do their best work. We also give them a small case load to ensure they can provide the best attention to their cases.
Key Differences:
You technically benefit from two clinicians (intern + supervisor) instead of just one person.
Limited Term: You will not continue seeing the student intern long-term because when they complete their educational requirements toward graduation of their Master’s or Doctorate degree, they may move on to a different organization. We do allow our interns to decide collaboratively with their client if they would like to continue working together however, those clinicians may not become contracted with your health plan and may have a self-pay rate.
We do not sell our client referral as this is completely unethical and against the Code of Ethics. We totally support the valuable bond a client and therapist can create and whole heartedly support the need for the team to work outside thereafter together.
Insurance: Some insurance reimbursements may be less and self-pay rates may be slightly less depending on the treatment.
Benefit of Working with an Intern:
Quicker Appointments: Interns may have immediate openings, while licensed professionals may be scheduled on the specific date you need. We try our best to give immediate appointments with fully licensed providers though, if that’s what you prefer.
The difference between a Fully Licensed & Student Intern is:
Once the student intern completes these extensive hands on and supervised internship, the qualified supervisor working, will sign a form and send to the Board of Social Work.
After completing the required hours, that Student Intern will be extensively screened by Florida Licensing to determine eligibility, which is completely separate from anything we have control over to be able to become Board Certified with the Licensing Board to earn full licensure.
Overall, the process is very rigorous and most recent graduates after passing the license exam and are fully licensed still continue to learn through studying and researching to be better and better.
From the very beginning of even being allowed to work with clients, student interns are required to be fingerprinted and have a background check conducted by the Licensing board in their state.
Many therapists and student interns working for us have lived experiences, meaning they have been through similar experiences of the issues you are suffering from and can bring helpful compassion and empathy to your case.
